Information
Great Eccleston Copp Church of England Primary School is a vibrant school where children are enthusiastic and motivated to be the best that they can be. Every decision we make is child-focused, so that our school is constantly evolving to fit the needs of our children and families.
We enjoy a happy, small-school ethos where everyone is valued and nurtured as an individual and where we encourage our children to develop a range of Christian values, to help them be better equipped to respect and value others around them. We are very proud of our happy, thoughtful and confident pupils, who are excellent ambassadors for the love and caring which stems from our Christian Vision.

OFSTED rated the school as good in 2016 and our SIAMS rating was excellent in 2020. We anticipate an OFSTED inspection soon and the Governors are looking for a Headteacher who will see that as an opportunity to set a high baseline from which to advance the school even further.

The children at our school would like their new Headteacher to:
  • Be understanding and kind, with a good sense of humour and respect for everyone.
  • Make time for the pupils, be able to relate to them and get to know them well.
  • Work alongside them and listen to their ideas.
  • Share their vision but also be willing to try new ideas to help benefit our school.
  • Be someone who can lift everyone's spirits in these uncertain times.

Governors are looking for someone who will have:
  • Excellent teaching skills and a dedication to teaching and learning, someone who encourages all children to reach their full potential.
  • Experience of effective leadership and management of people and the interpersonal skills that enable effective working in partnership with governors, staff, parents and community.
  • A clear vision for the continued development of both children and staff and the ability to articulate and communicate this vision to children, parents, staff and Governors.
  • An active Christian commitment, and the ability to develop further the Christian ethos of the school.

    In return we offer:
  • A welcoming school with an enthusiastic, hard-working and dedicated team of staff who are
committed to developing the full potential of every child within a strong Christian ethos.
  • Children who are enthusiastic, confident, happy and well behaved, who care about each other and value their teachers.
  • A supportive and ambitious governing body.
  • Continued support for your professional development.

You will find lots of information about our school on our website: www.coppschool.lancs.sch.uk and the attachments to this advertisement.
