After successfully leading us through the challenges of COVID19, the development of online learning, COVID catch up, the demands of a new Ofsted framework, and the revision of our curriculum, Mrs Hesketh is joining the Lancashire Advisory Service: Penwortham Primary School is looking to appoint a new Headteacher.
The successful applicant will lead the school to both maintain and further develop all aspects of the school’s provision, achieving the best possible outcomes for each and every pupil. The successful candidate will be required to act with honesty and integrity, be self-critical and be highly skilled at forging positive professional relationships.
Above all else, the following are the five key professional attributes that we are looking for in the person we appoint:- A focus on embedding and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement
- Empowering all those involved in teaching to make positive contributions to the school and their career development
- Cultivating leadership skills across all staff
- Ready to engage in collaborative and strategic partnership working with all stakeholders within and beyond the school
- Adaptable to change and willing to embrace innovation, evidencing resilience and conviction

Ideally, the successful applicant will be available to take up the post on 1st January 2024, however the governing body would be willing to delay this until 1st May 2024 for the right candidate. This will be discussed at the appropriate point – an inability to begin on 1st January 2024 should not be taken as a reason not to apply for this wonderful opportunity.
