St Thomas’ CE Primary school is a happy church school family and community, situated a short walk from the beach at St Annes on Sea and has super outdoor spaces. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive and talented Deputy Head to assist the Headteacher in leading and inspiring the staff and pupils at St Thomas'. This is an opportunity for a dynamic and inspirational school leader to build on the foundations already in place and continue to lead the school forward in our drive to achieve the best possible outcomes for all our children.

This role will not be class based, enabling the Deputy Head to have a great impact in a key leadership role within school, driving and leading the strategic aspects of school life. The Deputy Head will undertake the duties of SENDCO and Inclusion Lead.
Additional responsibilities may include the development of the support staff team, parental and community engagement, some aspects of Curriculum development, student teacher and placement development and behaviour, depending on the strengths and skills of the candidate. They will be able to make a real contribution to teaching and learning, to the support offered to children and families, to the Spiritual and worship life of the school and all areas of school self-evaluation and strategic whole-school improvement whilst embodying and sharing our Christian vision with others. The successful applicant will be fully involved in the wider life of the school, including links with the Diocese and School Advisers.
