Following the promotion of the current postholder, the Governors at Caton St. Paul’s CE Primary School are looking for an excellent, dedicated and motivated school leader to become our new Deputy Headteacher. Caton St Paul's is a medium-sized school with 170 children on roll, and situated in the Lune Valley, 10 minutes outside Lancaster.

Our team of dedicated staff ensure that our children receive an inspirational education based around our mission statement: ‘One family, belonging, believing and learning together’. Our children are our greatest advert; they are vibrant, enthusiastic and keen to learn. We are also blessed with fabulous outdoor space that we continue to develop and utilise to ensure the children access quality outdoor education. We are looking for someone with strong teaching experience as well as a track record of implementing school improvement, particularly with regards curriculum.

You will also be an excellent, inspiring and creative classroom practitioner who can help us to build upon our successes and continue to develop our strategic vision.

We would like to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who

  • Has the capacity to lead and develop a core subject across school
  • Is an excellent teacher, able to share good practice and develop the teaching of others
  • Is committed to further embedding the Christian ethos of the school, based around our Christian vision
  • Is a positive role model who will lead by example and form positive relationships within a team and to bring out the best in others
  • Has an understanding of how to develop and implement a broad and balanced curriculum that offers sequential learning and connectivity
  • Will work together to support the Headteacher to ensure the best possible outcomes for all our children.
