Thank you for your interest in the post of Deputy Headteacher at Barden Primary School. This is a very exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking leadership team at a school that has gone from strength to strength.
We are proud that in June 2024, Ofsted recognised Barden Primary School as a Good school, reflecting the dedication of our children, staff, families and governors.
Our current Deputy Head has recently been promoted, leaving behind big shoes to fill, but also a wonderful chance for the right candidate to make their mark and help us move even further forward, building on our success and shaping the next stage of our journey.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will take on the responsibility of Teaching and Learning Lead, including Curriculum, but there is flexibility to shape wider responsibilities around their strengths. The role will be non-class based, enabling a strong focus on leadership and school improvement, however there will be a teaching commitment which will generally not exceed 50% of the timetabled hours.
At Barden, our children are at the heart of everything we do. They are enthusiastic, respectful and eager to learn, and our dedicated staff team works tirelessly to ensure every child thrives.
We are proud to offer a broad, creative curriculum, excellent pastoral care, and inclusive provision, including The Nest @ Barden, which supports pupils with communication and interaction needs.
We are looking for an outstanding teacher and inspiring leader who can bring energy, commitment and new ideas to our excellent team. The successful candidate will be approachable, resilient, supportive and ambitious for both staff and pupils. In return, you will join a school where collaboration, professional development and well-being are valued, and where you will be fully supported to grow as a leader.
The successful candidate will:- Have proven experience as an effective and inspirational leader in a primary setting.
- Be passionate about outstanding teaching and learning, motivating staff and pupils to achieve their very best.
- Lead with vision, energy and integrity, driving school improvement through collaboration and innovation.
- Take responsibility for leading our curriculum development, ensuring it is ambitious, inclusive and designed to give every child the best possible outcomes.
- Be flexible and confident in taking on wider leadership responsibilities that align with their strengths and the needs of the school.
- Demonstrate high expectations of themselves and others, with the determination to make a lasting impact on our school community.
In return, Barden Primary School offers:- Wonderful children who are enthusiastic, hardworking and proud of their school.
- A dedicated and talented staff team who work collaboratively and supportively.
- A committed Governing Body with ambition for the school and its future.
- A modern, purpose-built environment with outstanding facilities
- A strong ethos of care, creativity and aspiration where both children and staff are encouraged to flourish.
Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
