LEYLAND ST ANDREW

The governors of St Andrew’s Church of England Infant School are seeking a caring, motivated and visionary headteacher to lead our vibrant school in the next chapter of its development.

The successful candidate will be someone who can maintain the ‘Good’ level of provision on offer whilst possessing the ambition to develop it further.

At St Andrew’s, our vision, ethos and values underpin the way we work and learn. We are looking for a Christian leader who will embody these, nurture the ‘family-feel’ environment that has been established and create a culture where children and adults flourish together.

The successful candidate will:
  • be passionate about pursuing excellent teaching and learning in Early Years and Key Stage 1
  • be aspirational for all pupils, having high expectations for academic achievement as well as providing a rich extra-curricular offer and wider opportunities for all
  • have the ability to unite the staff team around the pursuit of our core Christian vision, further embedding and developing it in every aspect of school life
  • maintain stability for staff and parents and continue to invest in relationships within the community
  • work collaboratively with other school leaders, expanding the impact of St Andrew’s in the area
  • be committed to the successful integration and development of new nursery provision, due to take place this year
  • be a reflective leader, continually identifying and addressing areas for school improvement
  • lead with faith, love and integrity, inspiring children and adults to do the same.

If you are keen to pursue this opportunity, we can offer you:
  • a loving and welcoming school community with a strong Christian ethos and good church links
  • a happy, dedicated and talented staff team who are hardworking and committed to the success of the school
  • a supportive and active governing board who are proud of the journey St Andrew’s is on
  • joyful, confident and engaged pupils who love learning and growing together in faith
  • the exciting opportunity to be instrumental in shaping new, high quality, governor-led nursery provision to serve the children and families of Leyland.

Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
