The Governors of Sherwood Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Year 1 class teacher to cover a period of Maternity Leave. We are an aspirational School with high expectations for our children's personal growth and academic achievement. We were graded as Outstanding in all areas of the Ofsted framework in October 2024 and we are ambitious in our future development. This is an exciting opportunity to join an Outstanding Team.

Sherwood is a large two form entry Primary School with 427 pupils on roll. We are looking to appoint a dedicated teacher to teach in Year 1. Applications from Main Pay Scale teachers are invited. In your supporting letter, please state your curriculum strengths and how you feel your current and past experience has prepared you for this post. The successful candidate must be an inspirational teacher; focused on each child achieving their potential. The successful candidate must be driven and keen to work within a hardworking team to further develop teaching and learning in an Outstanding Primary School. This post is a temporary maternity leave cover from April to August 2025.

As part of the recruitment process, short-listed candidates will be invited to attend an interview and teach a 30 minute lesson in Year 1.
