Oswaldtwistle School (Pupil Referral Unit – 11-16 years short stay intervention school)

Following a restructure at senior level, the Management Committee is seeking to appoint 2 forward thinking Assistant Headteachers to assume key roles in furthering the success of this thriving, 11-16 years short stay, intervention school. In particular we are looking for expertise in the following areas;

  • Curriculum and Whole School Performance Data
  • Personal Development, Support and Intervention.

    The ideal candidate will have enjoyed success at Middle/Senior Leadership level in one or more of the following areas:

  •  Leading Teaching & Learning
  • Curriculum Development
  • Personal Development
  • Behaviour and Attitudes

    Specific duties and responsibilities will be decided following the appointment.

    The successful candidate will be highly experienced, well-qualified and have the ability to inspire and motivate vulnerable young people, who for one reason or another have struggled to successfully engage with their mainstream education. It is essential that they can elicit the trust and confidence of staff, parents/carers and Governors, and demonstrate experience and credibility in all areas of leadership. The successful candidate will be central to our continued success, playing a key role in furthering the Headteacher’s vision to ensure the children in our care receive the best possible support and most appropriate provision to help them to successfully move on to their next destination.

    It is highly important that their educational philosophy and beliefs reflect those detailed in our Vison, Mission statement and Ethos.
