The children, governors and staff of Carr Head Primary are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and positive class teacher to join our friendly staff team, covering a maternity leave from September.

The successful candidate will be full time and teach in Key Stage One.

    We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a passion for teaching and learning and is an excellent classroom practitioner, with high expectations of what each child is capable of achieving, and knows what it takes for every child to flourish, thrive and feel safe.
  • Has a solid understanding of the principles of effective teaching and learning and how this relates into everyday practice in the classroom.
  • Is able to inspire and motivate all pupils and is committed to delivering an engaging curriculum and enhancing learning both in and out of the classroom.  
  • Uses effective and sequential planning, ongoing assessment and adaptive teaching to ensure that every child makes good progress.
  • Supports our positive, inclusive and creative ethos.
  •  Works well with others and builds positive relationships with children and their parents and carers.
  • Shows determination, energy and ambition.
  • Shows a willingness to contribute to the wider life of our school.

  • Essential Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Successfully completed the ECT/NQT period

  • Essential Experience
  • Evidence of strong teaching in a primary school setting including the teaching of phonics

  • Desirable Experience
  • Recent experience of teaching in a KS1 / EYFS classroom
  • Experience of using assessment, tracking and target setting
  • Subject Leadership experience
