EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER - FEDERATION BETWEEN LECK ST PETER’S AND HORNBY ST MARGARET’S CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOLS
(CURRENTLY COLLABORATION – FEDERATION WITH EFFECT FROM 1ST SEPTEMBER 2023)

Due to the retirement of our long standing executive Head Teacher, we are looking to appoint at a very exciting time. Previously, Leck St Peters and Hornby St Margaret's were managed collaboratively for many years. After reflecting on the great success and advantages of the two small schools working together, the governors have decided to federate. This will formalise our strong relationship with both schools and create a secure post with strategic opportunities.
Our schools have strong Christian beliefs; therefore, the successful candidate will lead our schools according to our Christian values. To maintain our culture and build on our schools strengths we require someone who is inspirational, ambitious and compassionate. We are small friendly schools, in which you will build a rapport with each and every child, parent, carer, governor, member of staff and the local churches.

  • We value all members of our school community as created in the image of God and therefore of infinite worth.
  • We see everyone as an individual and seek to encourage them to reach their full potential.
  • Our curriculum is broad and diverse and takes full advantage of our unique geographical location.
  • We have a nurturing and encouraging community which helps children to thrive, building confidence and resilience.
  • We have enthusiastic and experienced team members.
  • We have well behaved and polite children who are well supported by their families and the community.
  • Hornby and Leck sit within close proximity of the Lancashire, North Yorkshire and Cumbria county borders. Our schools are part of Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Forest of Bowland, with only a short distance between the schools.
  • Both schools are within approx. 15 minutes to the M6 and a stone's throw to major cities, historic villages and the Lake District National Park.

    Interview date: 26th and 27th June 2023

Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
