The Governing Body of Abbey Village Primary School are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity to work at our wonderful rural village school. This post is initially a fixed term contract for one year.
We are looking to appoint a full time, experienced, highly motivated, classroom practitioner to teach in class 1 which is a small, mixed class of pupils consisting of Nursery, Reception and Year 1 (also open to NQT/ECT).

The successful candidate will be:
  • Have experience working within or a sound knowledge and understanding of a mixed age setting
  • Committed to and able to support the school's caring and nurturing ethos
  • Have a sound understanding of the EYFS framework and KS1 curriculum
  • An excellent teacher of phonics
  • Able to creatively plan, prepare and deliver lessons
  • Able to ensure progress for all pupils through robust tracking and interventions
  • Maintain excellent relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Flexible and adaptable to the ever changing needs of a small school
  • Willing to adapt learning to the needs and interests of the children to promote maximum engagement
