The Loyne Specialist School is a highly successful special school with 110 pupils on roll aged 2-19 with a range of learning difficulties, physical and sensory impairments. The Loyne has been rated by Ofsted as `Outstanding¿ for four consecutive inspections. In September 2019 we also successfully launched our independent Post 19 - 25 provision, 'Grizedale'.

We are now seeking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic full time teacher to join our well established staff team. The school has an exceptionally thorough approach to treating every pupil as an individual and we are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate a commitment to developing our pupil¿s skills and knowledge further through our holistic curriculum. Applicants should have a good understanding of effective teaching methods especially those relating to communication.

This position could be based in any of our age phases and will require the successful candidate to have knowledge of child development alongside a working knowledge of the primary curriculum. The successful candidates must also be able to demonstrate effective skills in working with a team of Learning Assistants to ensure structure, continuity and effective care within their class. You must have a resilient work ethic, a flexible attitude, and be prepared to deal with challenging behaviour.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and working in partnership with all stakeholders. Applicants must demonstrate some experience of working with individuals with SEND.
