The Loyne Specialist School is a special needs all through school (age 4-19 years) situated in north Lancaster. We are proud to have been recognised as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted for our last five inspections.
All of our young people have learning difficulties, some learners also have physical and sensory impairments. We have an onsite independent Post 19-25 provision, ‘Grizedale Centre’ that offers adult social care and health placements to some leavers from the Loyne School.
We are now seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed Teaching Assistant level 3 who, in liaison with the class Teacher, will be required to plan, develop and support the delivery of lessons to our young people. The successful candidate must have experience of working with young people with SEND, will need to be able demonstrate leadership in the classroom, have a positive work ethos, and have a passion for the delivery of our holistic curriculum. We are proactive in supporting behaviour and you must be willing to undertake further professional development to fully implement our policies and our ethos driven approach. If you wish to apply for this role, you must be prepared to work flexibly as you may be based anywhere across the age range in school. This can be discussed further at interview. You must be able to demonstrate a willingness and commitment to your own holistic professional development and act as a role model to both learners, young adults and colleagues.
The hours for this post are 8.30 a.m. – 3.45 p.m. term time. If successful the salary quoted will be paid on a pro rata basis.
