The Headteacher and Governors of Barrowford St Thomas CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a dedicated, proactive and talented LKS2 class teacher who is committed to playing an active role in the lives and continued development of our children and of our school.  The teacher will worked in our busy and thriving mixed-age Year 3/4 class on a full-time and permanent basis.

Barrowford St Thomas CE Primary School is located in the bustling and desirable village of Barrowford in East Lancashire and is easily accessible being 5 minutes from the M65 motorway.

The successful candidate will be joining a talented and motivated staff team who share a commitment to delivering excellence within our Christian setting. We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Prioritises positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
  • Sets high expectations for pupil learning, behaviour and attainment.
  • Shows creativity alongside practicality in their approach to learning.
  • Has an excellent working knowledge of the primary curriculum, especially LKS2, with strong Numeracy and Literacy skills.
  • Has the ability to promote good outcomes for all, including those with SEND and behavioural needs.
  • Is able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Can communicate clearly and to a high standard both verbally and in writing.
  • Can confidently make best use of assessment and monitoring of pupil progress and subsequent developmental needs.
  • Wants to continually develop their skills and knowledge through internal and external CPD.
  • Upholds the Christian values of the School.

  • Essential Qualifications

    - Qualified Teacher Status

    - Degree or equivalent

    Desirable Qualifications
    - Further Qualifications and/or studies relevant to the age range
    - Successful completion of NQT/ECT period
    - Full and active member of a church in membership of Churches Together in England
    Essential Experience

    - Successful experience of effective teaching within the primary phase

    - Recent and relevant experience of teaching the National Curriculum

    - An essential understanding of Safeguarding in Schools

    Desirable Experience

    - Leading a subject

    - Recent teaching experience in LKS2

    - Working with children with a range of SEND
