Charles Saer is on an exciting journey of school improvement as we work as a team to make our school and the children in it ‘the best we can be’. Our school currently has approximately 300 children on roll. We have a Nursery, and we currently admit 45 children every year. 56% of our children are entitled to Pupil Premium. We pride ourselves on the role we have in our local community supporting children and their families in a variety of innovative ways.
The successful candidate must have high expectations for themselves and our pupils. You MUST be able to motivate and inspire as a teacher and a leader and be passionate in using your skills and knowledge to provide highly effective curriculum delivery. You will be a positive person with a ‘growth mindset’ – always finding solutions to hurdles! No one day is ever the same, and we need the right person who understands that some of our children need nurture and support. You MUST love your job, and children!
We are very proud of our children, and our team of committed professionals at Charles Saer. We have a fantastic building which is only 10 years old. It houses an ICT suite, a fabulous children’s kitchen, library and………. we can almost see the sea!!

The successful candidate will have a teaching commitment but there is flexibility regarding where this would be in school. The Deputy Headteacher will:
  • Work in close partnership with the Headteacher
  • Be responsible for PPG funded initiatives in order to improve outcomes
  • Lead Curriculum, Assessment and Pupil Progress across all key stages
  • Maintain a regular teaching commitment.
