The Governors of Ryelands Primary and Nursery School are looking to appoint a Team Leader to complement our leadership team, with the same drive and commitment to raising standards, to providing the very best provision for pupils and with a real desire to make a difference. We wish to appoint an experienced and outstanding teacher who can lead by example and improve outcomes for all pupils within the phase, with focus and care for the children, the staff and the school community.

We are looking for a Team Leader who will:

  • lead the UKS2 phase and report to the Headteacher and Governors;
  • be an outstanding KS2 teacher, setting an excellent example of effective and inspiring teaching;
  • ensure policies and procedures within the phase are followed, including the Behaviour Policy;
  • work with the Deputy Headteacher to manage assessment in UKS2;
  • appraise and support colleagues in the phase to improve their practice and to ensure good outcomes for all pupils.

    Ryelands is a happy and forward-thinking primary school serving the Ryelands community. There are 65% pupils entitled to PPG. Our expectations are high, pupils and staff are highly valued; this is reflected in our ethos, learning environment and in all we do. There are 400 children in school; Ryelands is a two-form entry with a nursery taking pupils from the age of two.

    This is a full-time, permanent position in KS2.

    The successful candidate will:

  • have experience of working with children in Upper Key Stage 2 with evidence of outstanding teaching;
  • have a thorough knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment arrangements;
  • demonstrate an excellent understanding of behaviour management;
  • be someone who wants to make a positive difference to the lives of our pupils;
  • be a team player, able to invest and build successful relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents / carers.
