St Thomas’ CE Primary school is a happy church school family and community.  We are situated a short walk from the beach at St Anne's on Sea and have the benefit of super outdoor spaces.   We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive and talented class teacher who can bring a creative approach and who plans carefully to ensure the very best progress and outcomes for all our children.

    We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a passion for teaching and learning and is an excellent classroom practitioner, with high expectations of what each child is capable of achieving, and knows what it takes for every child to flourish, thrive and feel safe<
  • Has a solid understanding of the principles of effective teaching and learning and how this relates into everyday practice in the classroom
  • Is able to inspire and motivate all pupils and is committed to delivering an engaging curriculum and enhancing learning both in and out of the classroom  
  • Uses effective and sequential planning, ongoing assessment and adaptive teaching to ensure that every child makes good progress
  • Supports our positive, inclusive and creative ethos
  • Works well with others and builds positive relationships with children and their parents and carers
  • Shows determination, energy and ambition
  • Shows a willingness to contribute to the wider life of our school and offer provision which assists in developing the whole child by adding to our range of extra-curricular clubs.
  • Fully supports the Christian values of our school and our links with the Church and community.

  • Essential Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Essential Experience
  • Evidence of strong teaching in a primary school setting
  • Successful deployment of teaching assistants or other adults in the classroom to support learning
  • Desirable Experience

    Experience of using assessment, tracking and target setting

    Working with children with SEND, writing and using Individual Plans

    Experience of preparing children for external assessments e.g. End of Key Stage Assessments , phonics screening, multiplication check

    Subject Leadership experience
