Information
Moss Side Primary School wishes to appoint a teacher to support the progress, attainment and development of our pupils within the EYFS department. This post is fixed-term for one academic year, but may be extended depending upon funding. The one day post is to allow the EYFS class teacher release for senior leadership time. The successful candidate will be supported by the highly experienced class teaching assistant.

The post would be suitable for a wide range of candidates, from NQTs through to experienced teachers. The role of the potholder will be to deliver high standards of teaching, communicating clearly with the class teacher with regard to planning and assessment to develop an exciting, innovative and effective curriculum for pupils, which focuses on their need.  All staff are also expected to foster the positive behaviour and attitudes of pupils. In addition, the successful candidate would be required to embrace our school ethos of developing considerate, well-rounded human beings, as well as endeavouring to ensure that all children achieve their potential across a range of areas, not simply academic. We are excited about the prospect of adding a new teacher to our welcoming, enthusiastic team, who are always open to new ideas. In return, they would be well supported by the experienced colleagues already employed by the school.

The School:
Moss Side Primary School has an excellent reputation in the area and is consistently oversubscribed. We serve the Moss Side area of Leyland, our catchment comprising both rented and owner occupied housing.

Academically we maintain a high standard, but this does not mean that our emphasis is on academic success to the exclusion of all else. Quite the contrary, in fact! We believe that school should be a happy, exciting place and, to this end, we hold many special weeks (eg Book Week, World of Work Week etc) and set great importance by our class assemblies and whole school productions. We also have a wide programme of enrichment activities, to support the wider curriculum and use staff skills to give pupils sporting, dramatic, musical and artistic opportunities amongst other things.

We enjoy a close working relationship with our parents, who are invited into school on a regular basis for assemblies and open days. We also have a rota of parents who come in and help on a regular basis.

Further information:
The role is one day per week for one year, commencing from the start of Autumn term 2022 until 31.08.2023. There is potential for this to be extended, depending upon school funding. Ideally the post is for Wednesday but this can be negotiated during the interview process. There is also the opportunity for additional, casual hours throughout the year to cover within this and other classes as required.
