Information

The Loyne Specialist School is a highly successful special school with 112 pupils on roll aged 2-19 with broad range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).  A number of pupils have additional physical and sensory impairments. We are very proud of our school which has been rated by Ofsted as Outstanding for four consecutive inspections.

Due to expansion, we are now seeking to recruit 3 dedicated and enthusiastic full-time teachers.  The school has an exceptionally thorough approach to treating every pupil as an individual and we are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate a commitment to developing our pupils’ skills and knowledge further through our holistic curriculum.

Applicants should have a good understanding of effective teaching methods especially those relating to communication. These positions may be based anywhere across our age phases from EYFS to our FE Department, (this can be discussed further at interview) and will require the successful candidates to have knowledge of child development.  All our staff are expected to work flexibly.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate effective skills in working with a team of teaching assistants to ensure structure, continuity, behaviour support and effective care within their class. Applications are warmly welcome from ECT’s who are excited about a challenging first post as well as from experienced teachers in mainstream and special schools. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and working in partnership with all stakeholders and must be able demonstrate experience of working with individuals with SEND.

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'. Information provided by you or the Disclosure and Barring Service will be dealt with in a confidential manner in accordance with the DBS's Code of Practice. You may view the Code of Practice on the DBS website at www.gov.uk/dbs or alternatively a copy is available on request. Lancashire County Council has a Handling of DBS Certificate Information Policy this is available from the recruiting manager to applicants who are asked to complete a DBS application.

Lancashire County Council has a Policy Statement on the Recruitment of Ex-offenders this is available to all applicants upon request.
