Information
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us in the school’s journey towards ‘outstanding.’ The role of Lead Practitioner in Science will focus on driving high quality teaching and learning strategies across the Maths Faculty through coaching and developing staff, to maximise student outcomes.

Our vision … recognise the value of learning and a pride in achievement

Fleetwood High School has a fantastic and strong community for 11 to 16 year olds which serves the Fylde Coast; predominantly Fleetwood, Thornton and Cleveleys, Lancashire.

The school is a true comprehensive, with a wide ability range reflecting a social mix, and it has many very bright youngsters. The school sees itself as the centre of its community and works hard to involve the community in school life.

Our central mission is to ensure that we play a significant role in removing the stubborn link between some of the social issues that our community faces and academic underperformance. Consequently, our students and our professionals are in the vanguard of a drive which seeks to prove that where teaching is excellent, leadership inspiring and behaviour standards exemplary, all children excel regardless of their background, social economic status or circumstances.

And… we are getting there! Ofsted have highlighted several areas where we are transforming educational provision for our young people…
Ofsted, January 2019…
• “Leaders’ determination and tenacity have underpinned the many improvements made since the last inspection”
• “…far-reaching improvements that leaders have made to the school”
• “Leaders have established a strong safeguarding culture”
• “The views expressed by parents reflect a sea-change in the school’s reputation”
• “Staff enjoy working at the school. They feel proud to be a part of the school’s improvement journey and are keen to develop the school further”
• “Pupils feel valued as individuals. They appreciate the work of staff”

However, we want to go further and faster. If you have the drive and commitment to help us raise the bar for every student, close the education gap between disadvantaged students and their more privileged counterparts and want to help positively transform the community we work within, then we want to hear from you!
