Information
The Loyne Specialist School is a highly successful special school with 114 pupils on roll aged 2-19 with broad range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).  A number of pupils have additional physical and sensory impairments. We are very proud of our school which has been rated by Ofsted as Outstanding for four consecutive inspections.

We are now seeking to recruit three dedicated and enthusiastic full-time teachers.  Two of the posts are offered on a permanent basis with the third post to cover a maternity leave.  The school has an exceptionally thorough approach to treating every pupil as an individual and we are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate a commitment to developing our pupils’ skills and knowledge further through our holistic curriculum. Applicants should have a good understanding of effective teaching methods especially those relating to communication.

This position will be based in either our primary or secondary departments and will require the successful candidate to have knowledge of child development alongside a working knowledge of the primary curriculum.  Please note, all our staff are expected to work flexibly across all of our age phases which includes our FE provision. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate effective skills in working with a team of teaching assistants to ensure structure, continuity, behaviour support and effective care within their class.

Applications are warmly welcome from ECT’s who are excited about a challenging first post as well as from experienced teachers in mainstream and special schools. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and working in partnership with all stakeholders. Applicants must be able demonstrate some experience of working with individuals with SEND.

A visit to the school is highly recommended but this is dependent upon the status of the COVID Outbreak Management Plan in operation at the time.

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'.
