Information

We are seeking to appoint a candidate who has experience in SEN and who has a track record for improving outcomes for children.

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful, you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'. Information provided by you or the Disclosure and Barring Service will be dealt with in a confidential manner in accordance with the DBS's Code of Practice.

Essential Qualifications

GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English & Maths

Have a degree in a relevant subject

Have QTS

To hold the National Award in Special Needs Coordination (Or a commitment to obtain within 3 years of taking up the post, or relevant experience as a SENCO for more than 12 months)

Desirable Qualifications

Be a trained first aider

Be familiar with end of KS testing

Have taught at KS1 and KS2 for at least two years

Essential Experience

Experience of working with and caring for pupils with SEND

Experience of working in line with expectations in the Ofsted framework regarding effective teaching and learning.

Desirable Experience

Have knowledge and experience of the SEN Code of Practice
