Information
Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher of Mathematics who is able to support the ambitions of the department and the school.

We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner who is both creative and challenging in their teaching. They will be passionate and committed to ensuring students maximise their potential and achievement. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across our whole 11-16 age range and ability range and shape the future of the subject within the school.

The Department has 4 full-time teachers and is led by a Lead Subject Teacher (LST). The post is vacant due to the phased retirement of a member of the team. This post is to support the LST of Maths and would suit an appropriately experienced Maths teacher seeking to further their own career and leadership development.

You join at an exciting time with the LST having completed their first year of the Maths Mastery NCETM programme. Year 2 (Sept 21) will focus on developing this across our maths department and Year 3 supporting other schools. Specific areas of responsibility for the 2nd in Charge will be identified with the successful candidate.

We currently offer the Edexcel GCSE in Maths at KS4 and at KS3 pupils cover the National Curriculum using the 'White Rose' maths scheme as the basis for our Maths curriculum.

The school is in a period of transition, quite literally with a planned capital building programme. Uniquely, whilst this is taking place the school has been temporarily off-site for the academic years 2019-2021, to allow for demolition and construction work. Therefore, we are currently based at Hameldon College, Coal Clough Lane, Burnley for this academic year but return to Oswaldtwistle in September 2021.

This post is suitable for an experienced teacher ready to take on additional subject leadership responsibilities, the school operates full salary portability

Please see Job Description and Person Specification for further information.
