Saint Ignatius' Catholic Primary School is a diverse and inclusive one form entry school situated in the heart of Preston. We have a highly dedicated staff team, a strong and experienced Senior Leadership Team, an effective governing body, a supportive parent community, and we enjoy good links with the local community and the parish of John XX111. The governors are seeking a Deputy Headteacher who:

  • Is a committed practising Catholic with a distinct vision of Catholic education in the 21st Century, who will cherish and support the Catholic ethos of our school.
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, motivate and inspire our children and staff.
  • Is an exciting, imaginative teacher with an excellent record of classroom practice.
  • Will continue to raise aspirations, standards and achievements for all of our children.
  • Is passionate about children's learning and developing the whole child.

    Key responsibilities will include:
  • Two day teaching commitment.
  • Assessment lead.
  • Curriculum leader.
  • NQT mentor.
  • Designated safeguarding lead (in the absence of the headteacher).
