The Governing Body of Walverden Primary School is seeking to appoint a committed and experienced Attendance and Business Support Officer to join our dedicated administrative team. This is a part-time position, working 30 hours per week; specific working hours will be arranged upon appointment.
We are looking for a professional individual with prior experience in a school office environment to provide high-quality administrative support and contribute to the efficient operation of the school’s administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Maintaining and updating pupil attendance registers
- Following up on absences and obtaining reasons for non-attendance
- Monitoring and reporting on whole-school attendance data
- Conducting home visits where appropriate
- Analysing attendance data to identify trends and areas of concern
- Supporting initiatives to improve attendance, including pupil incentives
- Collaborating with pupils, staff, parents, and carers to reduce absence levels
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Be proficient in a range of IT systems and software
- Have experience working in a busy school office environment
- Demonstrate excellent administrative, organisational, and communication skills
- Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Show initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving
A sound understanding of school attendance policies and procedures is highly desirable. The successful applicant will be joining a supportive and welcoming school community, and must be committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our pupils and their families.
