Summary
The governors of the Federation of Duke Street and Highfield Nursery Schools are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Early Years Educator to join our team. We would like someone who has a passion for working with children, is willing to learn and enjoys working as part of a team. The post will initially be to work with our children aged 2-3 years old.


If appointed, you will be part of a team of teaching assistants and teachers who share a commitment to providing the best possible education, to all of the students at Duke Street & Highfield Nursery Schools. The job is extremely rewarding, as you know you are making a difference to the lives of the young children you are working with.

Based: Initially to start at Highfield Nursery School but required to work across the federation

Hours per week: Flexible hours contract 20-30 hours (our setting is open 7:30-5:30pm and shift patterns will be set up within our opening hours)

Weeks per year: 38 weeks

Contract length: Fixed term until July 2026, with the possibility of this being extended should numbers remain as they are.  

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.

Essential Qualifications

- English at C or above (or equivalent or working towards the equivalent)

- Childcare qualification NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)

Desirable Qualifications

- Paediatric First Aid qualification

- Current Safeguarding training

- Childcare qualification NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)

- Maths GCSE C or above (or equivalent)

Essential Experience

- Experience of working with children

Desirable Experience

- Good knowledge of Early Years Curriculum 

- Experience of delivering interventions to support communication and language
