Moss Side Primary School wishes to appoint a positive, patient and committed teaching assistant to our school. The role will support all pupils, with a main focus on acting as a key member of staff to support a specific pupil who requires adaptations in order to support their behaviour for learning.
The successful applicant will be required to work alongside the class teacher and current class teaching assistant(s) (as well as the wider school team) in order to ensure pupils make appropriate progress, especially socially and emotionally, within the ethos of our school. Predominantly, this will be achieved by support to follow routines within a whole class setting.
Moss Side Primary School has an excellent reputation in the area and is consistently oversubscribed. We serve the Moss Side area of Leyland, where our catchment caters to a diverse range of pupils, contributing to a dynamic school community. We pride ourselves on our close working relationship with our parents, who we invite into school on a regular basis and communicate with via our ‘open door’ approach.
Academically we maintain a high standard, but this does not mean that our emphasis is on academic success to the exclusion of all else. We believe that school should be a happy, exciting place and, to support this, have developed a carefully crafted series of opportunities to support the personal development of our pupils. Great importance is placed on our class assemblies and whole school productions, as well as charity events and special weeks. We also have a wide programme of enrichment activities, to support the wider curriculum and use staff skills to give pupils sporting, dramatic, musical and artistic opportunities amongst other things.
The role is 27.5 hours per week, commencing asap until 31.08.2026 (due to SEN funding). There is potential for this to be extended, depending upon the funding available and other staffing arrangements.
All employees have a responsibility for their own health and safety and that of others when carrying out their duties and must help us to apply our general statement of health and safety policy.
