Balshaw Lane Primary is a happy school where personal development and positive relationships are at the heart. We have wonderful staff and supportive governors and trustees.
We wish to appoint a part time teaching assistant to support our Early Years classroom teaching and organisation, and to help support any children with additional needs. The TA will be based within our Early Years classroom working under the guidance of the class teacher to help ensure a calm, happy working environment where children flourish. Experience of working with Early Years children and the curriculum will be a benefit.
The role is part-time, working 8.55am-3.20pm.for 4 days and 8.55am to 12.00pm for 1 day dependant on the teachers PPA day. The contract will be for 38 weeks, term time. There may also be an opportunity to carry out TA3/HLTA cover for an additional afternoon dependant on qualifications.
We are a Good school with outstanding personal development (April 2025), as judged by Ofsted.
We require our TAs to be hard-working, hands-on, able to use initiative independently and with excellent attendance. You will be involved in the daily practicalities of the classroom, including relating to medical and hygiene needs or supporting children with SEN. Training will be provided for first aid, any medical or SEN needs. A friendly, positive attitude will enable you to fit into our team.
At Balshaw Lane Primary, we take safeguarding very seriously. We will check your application form and references closely. The successful candidate will need DBS clearance before taking up the post.

- Essential Qualifications

- Have the ability and experience to work at a level of understanding and competence equivalent to NVQ Level 2 TA
- Ability to speak and write in Standard English
- Have the ability and experience to work at a level of understanding and competence equivalent to NVQ Level 2 TA
- Desirable Qualifications

- GCSE maths and English Grade C or above
- Experience of supporting teaching and learning in the primary classroom
and/or- Experience of working within an Early Years setting/class
