Summary
The Governing Board at Bacup Nursery School would like to appoint a qualified and hardworking Level 3 Teaching Assistant for 30 hours per week.

Bacup Nursery School is an Outstanding Nursery School (June 2022, February 2019, December 2014, November 2011) and we would like a fully committed Teaching Assistant to start in October 2025.

We are looking for a teaching assistant
  • with excellent organisational and time-keeping skills.
  • who is hard working and committed to ensuring high standards and excellent practice in Early Years Education.
  • who can demonstrate a high standard of planning for progression, delivery of teaching and assessment of children's learning.

    This is on a temporary contract commencing asap from October 2025 until July 2026.

    Position salary is Grade 6, 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only. Times required to work will be 8.30am to 2.30pm each day.

    The position is part-time, term-time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be on a pro-rata basis.

  • Essential Qualifications
  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Childcare and Education.

  • Maths GCSE or equivalent.

  • English GCSE or equivalent.


  • Desirable Qualifications
  • Paediatric First Aid.
  • Essential Experience
  • Experience of leading a staff team.

  • Knowledge of EYFS.

  • Sound understanding of the typical development of 2, 3 and 4 year old children.

  • Ability to plan and deliver effective learning experiences.

  • Experience of working with young children.

  • Desirable Experience
  • Experience of working with young children within a highly effective educational setting.
