Lordsgate Township C of E Primary School are seeking to appoint a suitable qualified chef or cook who will work under the direction of the School Business Manager. We are proud to operate our own school kitchen, with all kitchen staff employed directly by the school.
We are currently seeking a School Cook to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will work alongside 2 kitchen assistants to plan, prepare and deliver high-quality nutritious meals, made from scratch. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a catering environment, cooking for large numbers and also be expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.
This position is part time, term time only plus 5 inset days. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro–rata basis.
Interviews will be taking place week commencing 18th August 2025.

- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
- Relevant catering qualification in Hospitality or Catering

- Experience in a similar cooking or catering role
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred)
- Knowledge of catering for allergens and dietary requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Friendly, reliable, and organised
- Desirable Experience

- Experience of working in a school kitchen
- Experience in menu planning and tailoring for dietary / allergen requirements
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Supervisory / team leader experience
- Budgeting and stock control knowledge
