There is a shortage of childcare workers across the country, we have spent a great deal of time building a highly skilled and reliable workforce here at Lee Royd Nursery School. We are looking to upskill future childcare workers, who have an ambition to work within the Early Years. We are a Lancashire County Council maintained nursery school, with a Good Ofsted.
Core tasks:- Under the teacher’s clear guidance, to support the education, personal and social development of pupils in the class including those with special needs and/or bilingual needs and to establish positive relationship with pupils.
- Under the clear guidance of the class teacher to implement structured learning activities and to assist individual/group of pupils to complete tasks.
- To meet the needs of pupil(s) in relation to welfare, hygiene, toileting, dressing, feeding and mobility.
- Assist with movement around the school environment and during school activities
- Assist in the development of independent social skills.
- Assist in the supervision of set tasks and integrated therapy for an individual/small group of pupils.
Full induction to work will be provided by the Head teacher, online e-learning via Astute on basic H & S modules will be required. Safeguarding and Child Protection training will be provided. The apprentice will be allocated a mentor from our SLT to assist them through their apprenticeship and required training.
