We are incredibly excited here at Brockholes Wood Community Primary School, to be opening our own SEND unit, to support children that have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). We are due to open our SEND unit from September 2025.
Our SEND unit will be a dedicated and inclusive learning environment committed to providing a supportive and nurturing atmosphere for children with SEND. Our specialist unit will focus on supporting children with SLCN, many of whom have a diagnosis of autism, in the hope of fostering their communication, language and social interaction skills as well as helping them to develop their confidence and independence tailored interventions and innovative teaching practices.
We are seeking an empathetic, compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistants (L3) to join our SEND team. The role involves working closely with children that have significant needs, supporting their educational, emotional, and social development through both one-on-one and group activities.
Though the permanent hours would be 15 hours minimum, the role is for 32.5 hours a week.

Experience working with children, especially those with SLCN, autism or other SEND.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Assisting teachers in delivering personalised learning plans tailored to each child’s needs.
Knowledge of autism and related strategies is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
Can provide emotional and behavioural support to help children manage challenges.
