Lancaster Christ Church Church of England Primary School are seeking to appoint a dedicated and highly skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team of staff.

The successful applicant will have a valuable role within the school team, working alongside class teachers to prepare, deliver and mark whole class lessons during teacher’s PPA and non-contact time.  They will monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to pupils, the class teachers and parents.

The successful applicant will be committed to ensuring that all children have a high-quality learning experience within a nurturing and inspiring environment, will have high expectations of conduct and behaviour and will establish supportive relationships with pupils, parents, and other staff members. 

Please note that this role will initially be based for 1 day in each class from Reception – Year 3.

  • Essential Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or above qualification which is appropriate to the post (or equivalent).
  • Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

  • Desirable Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 4 qualification which is relevant to the post (or equivalent).
  • HLTA status.
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role.

  • Essential Experience
  • An ability to relate well to children and to work successfully as part of a team.
  • Good communication, time management and organisational skills.
  • High expectations of children’s attainment and behaviour.
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • A commitment to safeguarding the protecting the welfare of children.
  • Willingness to undertake further training, as appropriate to the role.
