The Governing Body and Headteacher of West Lancashire Community High School are currently inviting applications for the post of Assistant Key Stage 3 lead.

We are a thriving school and as a result of increasing students on roll and staffing structure changes there is an opportunity for a teacher to take on additional leadership and management responsibilities.

This is a TLR (2.1 £3214) position with a role within the senior management team an essential element of the post. The post is full-time.

West Lancashire Community High School is a vibrant generic learning difficulties school and has previously been inspected by Ofsted and rated good. Our students all have an Education Health Care Plan. We currently have 177 students on roll, students are aged between 11 and 19 years. Our school is organised into three key stages/departments: Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, Key Stage 5.

Essential Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher status 
  • Degree
  • Recent participation in a range of in-service training 

  • Desirable Qualifications
  • Leadership and Management qualification
  • Recent experience of line management duties at middle manager level 

  • Essential Experience
  • Teaching experience in a similar school. 
  • Experience across a range of SEN and learning ability 
  • Experience of working with secondary aged students  
  • Experience of working with students on the autistic spectrum 

  • Desirable Experience
  • Experience of working with students with PMLD 
  • Leadership and management experience in a SEND area of particular strength supported by additional studies 
  • Middle management experience 
  • SEND trainer delivery experience internally to colleagues or to mainstream counterparts
