Information
Ormskirk Church of England Primary School are seeking to appoint an Acting Deputy Headteacher on a secondment for one term beginning the 1st January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their leadership career to take on the role of Acting Deputy Headteacher for 1 term at a warm, happy and caring school with a distinctly Christian ethos.

Whilst there will be a varied and regular teaching commitment across school, the role will be largely non-class based with opportunities to develop leadership skills. The Acting Headteacher is the school substantive Deputy and knows the school and the community well. We are dedicated to nurturing the whole child and we pride ourselves on our high standards and quality care. We have an experienced and dynamic staff who are well supported by the governors.

Our school building and site is one of the largest in Lancashire and this presents many opportunities as well as challenges for school management. We have a popular nursery, a swimming pool, a science lab, extensive grounds and many school pets! The school is buzzing with activities, opportunities and creative work. The children are well behaved and have a healthy sense of fun. If you think you are the person to help lead our team and can bring a lot of energy, versatility, expertise, positivity and enthusiasm please apply.

This role is a secondment opportunity until 10th April 2025 and therefore is it essential that any candidate applying has the support of their Headteacher and Governors. We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible in the New Year.
