We are seeking a Year 6 Teacher for a maternity cover position starting from the 17th of November. This role is based in a rural primary school in Preston and requires a candidate with significant Year 6 teaching experience. Please note, this position is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons that meet curriculum standards and the needs of Year 6 students.
- Assess and record students' progress, preparing them for end-of-year expectations.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive and conducive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the educational environment and uphold the school's values.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress and any concerns.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Year 6 teacher.
- Strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and the specific requirements for Year 6.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
