The governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, passionate, inspirational, and enthusiastic teacher. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. We pride ourselves on nurturing our pupils and providing a one-size-fits-one approach to learning that enables our young people to reach their full potential. We provide a safe, happy and regulated learning community, where together we empower pupils to develop key skills for life. The position is temporary and subject to budget funding.

We are looking for someone who:

is an excellent classroom practitioner; who will lead by example, modelling outstanding teaching and learning for children with a wide range of complex learning difficulties

has a good understanding of autism and total communication approach.

has a good understanding of a personalised curriculum

has a good understanding of child development

has a commitment to the safeguarding of all children

has high expectations for all children

has a good understanding of emotional regulation and sensory needs

has the ability to work effectively with children, parents and governors, as well as members of the wider community.

You will also be able to lead a small classroom team.

has an excellent sense of humour, is positive, passionate and forward thinking.

Essential Experience

Understanding child development

Curriculum and assessment requirements and knowledge of adapting a curriculum to meet the needs of the learners

Effective teaching and learning strategies, including behaviour management

Understanding of the factors impacting on families of children with SEN and ability to work positively with families

Desirable Experience

Application of ICT to teaching and learning

Managing a team

Teaching experience with a wide range of SEND

Teaching experience of facilitating and developing communication and interaction skills
