About Us:
Kingsbury Primary Special School is dedicated to providing a nurturing and creative environment for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our school focuses on positive emotional and social development while ensuring each child receives an individualised education. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated teacher who shares our commitment to empowering children and supporting their unique needs.

We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a creative, empathetic, and confident teacher to join our incredible team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with SEN. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and providing a nurturing, inclusive environment that promotes the well-being and development of every child in your care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering creative and tailored lessons for students with a range of SEN, ensuring each child's individual needs are met.
  • Utilising a Total Communication Approach to support all children and promoting effective communication throughout the school day.
  • Establishing and maintaining a calm, regulated classroom environment, using positive behaviour support strategies and sensory regulation  to enhance student engagement and well-being.
  • Leading and inspiring a team of Teaching Assistants (TAs), ensuring effective collaboration to provide the best possible support for our children.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing Personal Learning Objectives (PLOs) for students, ensuring they are tailored to their specific needs and goals.
  • Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each child.
  • Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and social skills development to support children's growth towards independence and self-confidence.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of school policies and practices related to SEN.

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
  • An understanding of a Total Communication approach, including Makaton or other communication tools, to support non-verbal children.
  • A strong understanding of emotional regulation strategies and a nurturing approach to support children’s development.
  • Creativity and flexibility in planning and delivering engaging learning experiences.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in guiding and supporting a team of teaching assistants.
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and safe environment for all children.
