The Coppice School is a truly special place to work and our pupils are at the heart of everything we do here. We meet the wide range of special educational needs for learners aged 2-19 years and all our pupils have Education Health Care Plans. Our aim is to ensure that through fun and stimulating activities we Learn, Enjoy and Achieve. We are proud of the school’s dedicated and highly motivated staff team who are passionate about providing the best possible opportunities for children to thrive and develop their independence. We work in partnership with parents, therapy staff, social care and other agencies to ensure the best possible provision for our learners.

We are seeking to appoint a qualified teacher due to the retirement of a long-standing member of staff. This position would suit an ECT or experienced teacher.

Essential Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 
  • Degree

  • Recent participation in relevant training
  • Recent SEN qualification

  • Essential Experience
  • Experience of working with children/young people with a range of SEND to include complex learning difficulties and autism
  • Experience of parental engagement in children's  learning
  • The ability to demonstrate a high standard of classroom practice
  • A flexible and positive approach to school life demonstrating a good sense of humour

  • Desirable Experience
  • Experience of working as part of a multi disciplinary team
  • Experience of working with children/young people with challenging behaviour

  • Experience of assessment, recording and reporting for pupils with a range of SEND and complex learning difficulties
