St Bernard’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery is part of the Mater Ecclesiae Catholic MAT. We are a single form entry school with a record of high standards and high expectations. It is an excellent school for staff at all levels to develop professionally. We are a good school with outstanding religious provision. 

Due to the current Year 3 teacher retiring at the end of the school year, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to work in Year 3 from 1st September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position.

  • Have the ability to work as a team with support staff to ensure the best for the children 
  • Have the ability to lead and deploy support staff effectively within the classroom  
  • Plan and teach relevant, purposeful and engaging lessons to meet the needs of the children 
  • Form good relationships with the children  
  • Foster a love of learning  
  • Deliver skills-based learning that is flexible and challenging. 
  • Be supportive of the Catholic Ethos and contribute to this ethos. 
  • Seek out constructive criticism, accept praise and be able to ‘smile through the rain!’
