The headteacher and governors are keen to appoint an individual who will demonstrate passion, enthusiasm and a commitment to deliver high quality teaching and learning across the school so that every child is supported to reach their full potential. At Euxton C.E. Primary School, we believe that a high standard of academic work is as important as the spiritual, moral, and cultural development of our pupils and we work hard to provide a secure, caring and stimulating environment.

MAIN PURPOSE: To work with the Headteacher to create, inspire and embody a distinctive Christian ethos and culture in this church school, embedding an unambiguous Christian vision that seeks to empower all stakeholders to experience ‘life in all its fulness’ (John 10:10).

The Assistant Headteacher will:
  • Be one of two Assistant Headteachers who form the senior leadership team alongside the headteacher.
  • Assist the Headteacher in the day-to-day organisation and management of the school, including being responsible for the management of the school in the absence of the Headteacher. (When the headteacher is not in school, it will be made clear which Assistant Headteacher will be responsible for operational decisions).
  • Undertake the normal responsibilities of the class teacher (0.8fte) and have a proven track record in excellent classroom practice.
  • Support and/or represent the Headteacher at meetings as and when required
  • Undertake such duties as are delegated by the Headteacher
  • Play a major role, under the overall direction of the Headteacher, in formulating and reviewing the School Improvement Plan, aims and objectives of the school
  • Play a major role, under the overall direction of the Headteacher, in leading the curriculum.
  • Lead school worship and be fully committed to supporting our Christian vision and values.
