Y6 Class Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Y6 Class Teacher to join a vibrant school in the Chorley area. This full-time, temporary position is ideal for an experienced educator who has a strong background in preparing students for SATS. The successful candidate will lead a class of 36 students, supported by a full-time Teaching Assistant, from Easter 2025 until the summer term ends.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
- Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and disciplinary systems.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
- Collaborate with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Y6 teacher, ideally with SATS preparation experience.
- Strong understanding of the primary education curriculum and teaching methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Energy, enthusiasm, stamina, patience, dedication, resilience and self-discipline.
- Initiative, leadership and supervisory skills and teamworking abilities.
- Enhanced DBS disclosure.
