Information:
The NHS Day Unit provides assessment and treatment of the mental health needs of children and young people. The Education Team, as part of the Day Unit, works closely with clinical colleagues and professionals from other agencies, therefore, the ability to work collaboratively is essential.
The Education Team delivers an in-centre timetable and outreach work to mainly pupils of secondary age studying for GCSEs and a very small number of pupils of primary age. Pupils are of the full ability range and remain on the roll of their mainstream school.
The educational provision at the Day Unit is provided by Lancashire Hospital Education Service (LHES).
LHES also provides a Home Teach Service to support young people within their homes. The work involves enabling pupils to keep up to date with their education, along with working with young people who are disengaged from education and need bespoke support to help them re engage with their learning.
We work closely with schools to integrate pupils back to their mainstream school where appropriate.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will deliver at the Day Unit in the mornings and then provide home tuition in the afternoons.
