Reed Education is seeking a dynamic Science Teacher to join a supportive school in Lancaster. The role is to start immediately on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment for students at KS3 and KS4 levels, with KS5 being an advantage.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Delivering Science lessons in accordance with the curriculum.
  • Creating a stimulating and safe learning environment.
  • Engaging students in the subject matter and fostering a passion for Science.
  • Preparing and marking assignments, tests, and exams.
  • Monitoring and recording progress and providing feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and participate in continuous professional development.
  • Upholding the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding and disciplinary standards.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience of teaching Science at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 being an advantage.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and able to act as a good role model for students.
  • Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
