Reed Education is seeking a dynamic Science Teacher to join a supportive school in Lancaster. The role is to start immediately on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment for students at KS3 and KS4 levels, with KS5 being an advantage.

Day-to-day of the role:

Delivering Science lessons in accordance with the curriculum.

Creating a stimulating and safe learning environment.

Engaging students in the subject matter and fostering a passion for Science.

Preparing and marking assignments, tests, and exams.

Monitoring and recording progress and providing feedback to students and parents.

Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and participate in continuous professional development.

Upholding the school’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding and disciplinary standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.

Recent relevant experience of teaching Science at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 being an advantage.

Excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.

Reliable, committed, and able to act as a good role model for students.

Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
