Are you a teacher who is keen to make a difference? Do you have resilience, a calm caring nature and an understanding of challenging Behaviour? Can you build trusting professional relationships with young people? Do you plan engaging and exciting lessons? If so, read on.
Moorbrook is a good SEMH special school for secondary age pupils, many of whom are neurodiverse often with adverse childhood experiences and a wide range of educational levels. We are expanding further and seeking staff for an additional class in KS3.
We require a teacher who is able to teach in Y7 and Y8, many of our pupils have delayed or missed learning and the post would ideally suit a primary teacher keen to expand their experience range. The post would also suit a teacher moving from another SEND setting or a secondary teacher with experience of pupils functioning below age expectation. Experience, understanding and empathy with SEND pupils is essential. You may teach across the full range of subjects and will lead a subject across the school. Our Y7 pupils follow a primary model of delivery whilst Y8 onwards work in a secondary model.
You will be part of a strong multidisciplinary team who are passionate about securing the best education for our young people. A desire to work with young people with challenging behaviour alongside a genuine passion to make difference to each individual pupil is essential. If you are passionate, hardworking and innovative this will be a very rewarding role. Staff wellbeing alongside pupil needs is central to all we do.
Rehabilitation: The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'. Information provided by you or the Disclosure and Barring Service will be dealt with in a confidential manner in accordance with the DBS's Code of Practice. You may view the Code of Practice on the DBS website at www.gov.uk/dbs or alternatively a copy is available on request. Lancashire County Council has a Handling of DBS Certificate Information Policy this is available from the recruiting manager to applicants who are asked to complete a DBS application.
