Information
We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a talented science teacher to join our large, vibrant, and established team working in the heart of Lancashire’s Ribble Valley. You will join us at an exciting and seminal time in our rich 90 year history with the recent opening of our Primary phase as we begin our journey as an all-through school for pupils aged 4 - 16. This follows considerable growth and subsequent enhancement of our site and facilities over previous years including the refurbishment of three science laboratories and the prep room, as part of the local authority expansion.

Inclusion here at Ribblesdale is paramount as we strive to provide an education rich in opportunity for all our pupils. Personal Development provision is ‘outstanding’ (OFSTED) with our unique Enrichment Programme helping pupils to foster their talents and gain new skills and experiences, beyond the classroom walls. Our innovative use of education technology has seen us recognised as a Microsoft Showcase School as we develop at the forefront as pioneers in educational technology and innovation.

Applications are encouraged from inspirational, aspirational teachers who will share our passion for high quality pedagogy informed by the latest research. A thirst for championing science across all aspects of the School is vital, along with the enthusiasm and commitment to continue to drive forward at this exciting time.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled scientist to join an enthusiastic and well motivated science team of 11 teachers at different career stages. We have 10 beautifully furnished and well-equipped laboratories, two classrooms and two preparation rooms, all of which are fantastically resourced and supported by excellent EdTech. We have recently become a through school providing the opportunity to learn about and perhaps even contribute to the primary science provision and help shape science across 4 key stages. Scientific enquiry is deeply embedded in our ethos and our annual science week is just one celebration of the joy and passion each and every member of our team has for their subject. This is a very supportive and high functioning department that looks forward to welcoming its newest member.
