The Governors of Holy Cross Catholic High School are seeking to appoint an inspirational, ambitious and innovative Assistant Headteacher to lead on whole school behaviour including pupil attitudes, routines and expectations. The successful applicant will ensure effective systems and procedures are consistently applied and ensure accurate and effective management of data relating to behaviour.

The Assistant Headteacher will have drive and ambition to inspire both staff and pupils in line with our mission statement I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.

Essential Qualifications
  • Degree
  • recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing professional development including working towards or attainment of Leadership Pathways or NPQSL
  • Desirable Qualifications
  • Relevant post-graduate study or qualifications
  • CCRS or equivalent
  • Essential Experience

    Commitment to Catholic Ethos and values
    Recent successful experience at middle leadership level

  • Knowledge of current initiatives in education and how they relate to raising standards and achievement
  • Experience of monitoring progress of pupils
  • Experience of raising standards through staff CPD
  • Successful track record of raising achievement as a middle leader or in another similar role
  • Desirable Experience
  • Knowledge of the principles and practice of school evaluation
  • Professional knowledge and understanding of the work of other agencies and opportunities for collaboration and professional knowledge and understanding of local and national policies, priorities and statutory frameworks
