Larches High School is a Secondary Maintained Alternative Provision school which provides full time education for up to 125 pupils who are not able to access mainstream education.
We have an inclusive philosophy and believe passionately in ensuring that all pupils are given the opportunities, skills, knowledge and qualifications to ensure that they are able to reintegrate back into mainstream education or on to specialist provision, further education employment or training.
We recognise that our pupils are individuals and that “one size does not fit all”. We also understand that many of our pupils have not had a positive experience of education and we believe it is our role to re-engage them with their learning, improve relationships and broaden their opportunities.
The personal relationships developed with our pupils ensure that each one achieves their potential both academically and personally.
The Governors of Larches High School are seeking to appoint an additional highly enthusiastic, inspiring, and motivational Teacher of Science. You will be a key part of our teaching team, delivering the very best quality teaching and learning in all three-science subject and will be expected to teach across both key stages. We have fully equipped science laboratories and a designated Science learning support assistant to support with the preparation of practical experiments.
The post requires the successful candidate to be a consistently good or outstanding teacher and have a proven record of engaging all pupils and raising their attainment. The candidate must be familiar with the science curriculum and be able to deliver the science curriculum content. We seek a team player with strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines. You will be innovative and able to employ a wide range of strategies in this role.
