The Loyne Specialist School is a highly successful special school with 110 pupils on roll aged 2-19 with a broad range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). A number of pupils have additional physical and sensory impairments. We are very proud of our school which has been rated by Ofsted as Outstanding for four consecutive inspections.
We are now seeking to recruit 2 dedicated and enthusiastic full-time teachers to join our staff team. Part time will also be considered. We have one permanent position and one temporary position to cover a maternity leave until July 2024.
The school has an exceptionally thorough approach to treating every young person as an individual and we are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate a commitment to developing our pupils’ skills and knowledge further through our holistic curriculum.
Applicants should have a good understanding of effective teaching methods, especially those relating to communication and must have demonstrable experience of working with SEND children. These positions may be based anywhere across our age phases from EYFS to our FE Department, (this can be discussed further at interview) and will require the successful candidates to have knowledge of child development. Please note, all our staff are expected to work flexibly.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate effective skills in working with and managing a team of teaching assistants to ensure structure, continuity, behaviour support and effective care within their class. You must also be able to demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and working in partnership with all stakeholders.
Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
Rehabilitation The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013).
