LTA / Reed Education are seeking a Geography Teacher for a successful and innovative Secondary School in the Leyland area. This new Teacher role is a Full-time temporary position covering 5 days per week, from 08:30-15:30. This role is starting as soon as possible and then is on a ongoing basis for the right candidate for a year.
The school ensures to provided the best possible opportunities for pupils to gain the most from their time at school.
Qualified Teacher Status and previous experience/strong knowledge of teaching Geography at Key Stage 3/4 is essential for this position.
The successful applicants must:
• Must have QTS or equivalent
• Must have recent relevant experience of teaching Geography at KS3 & KS4.
• Be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills
• Be reliable, committed and interested in working with students and demonstrate the qualities of a good role model (qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness and good listening skills)
• Have good interpersonal skills; be trustworthy, punctual as well as being patient and confident when working with children.
Within this role, your main responsibilities will be:
•Preparing, planning, and delivering high standards of lessons to ensure the continuous development of our pupils
•Mark and monitor classwork, alongside setting targets for future progress
•Establishing and developing strong relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and carers
•Have a clear understanding of all the needs of all pupils
•Monitoring pupils progress in reference with the school’s practice
•Excellent behaviour management skills
